enjoying the calm before the storm...

a big tummy calls for relaxation. a very big tummy calls for even more relaxation. lucky for us the weather has been great and we have spent many days in our lounge chairs on the beach reading & relaxing. turns out we both love to spend our weekend this way and are not quite sure why we didn't figure it out sooner. every weekend we pack our car with wetsuits, surfboard, beach bag, towels, magazines, books and snacks, and head down the 133. in ten minutes flat we are on our way down the steps to thalia street in laguna beach which has become our standard hangout. if there are waves i surf and nicole takes walks. if there are no waves we simply watch the skimboarders fly through the air in front of us. we do not know how they do it, but it looks like a lot fun. and very dangerous.

this guy's shirt said "ljunghusens gk" on it.
not really, but it might as well have, since he's styling a fanny pack.

nicole doesn't let the pregnancy stop her from spoiling me, and today i woke up to these delicious pancakes with fresh fruit and a cup of tea. must be amore!

wood's cove in south laguna.
one of the new beaches cotie and decided to try out.
not as crowded a thalia [a.k.a zero people watching] but very pretty & private.
made us feel like we were on vacation.

the world's prettiest mom to be!

i'm trying to climb the rocks, before the life guards start
blowing their whistles & waving their arms...

labor day seemed a good time to finally purchase our stroller, car seat & base. rather than order online we decided to make the purchase at a local store, bergstrom's. supporting the local economy is one of nicole's new "kicks" + we both liked the swedish sounding name. we decided on the chico cortina after hours of research & reviews and i proudly assembled it in our living room. we think it will be perfect for our little girl.

thanks to grandma becky and her generosity in purchasing this very important item we feel well prepared, both mentally and physically, for the birth of baby boozen and can't wait for her to get here!
