the blankie game

this is jade's (& my) favorite game right now: the blankie game.
the rules are very simple: throw a blanket in dramatic fashion over jade bug's face, and let her kick it off. fantastic!

what is this?

in the baby food section of the supermarket mama could not stop herself from grabbing a few baby food samples for jade. here you will see jade's confusion in trying sweet potato puree for the first time.

jade just wants to sit!

after my second day in the office, spending time with jade this evening was truly a highlight. she seemed to be showing off for her mama, sitting with no hands! jade, of course, did not realize how exciting this was for me so she remained calm, cool, and collected while i screeched with excitement.

here are a few photos taken of our fantastic little daughter this weekend. the first outfit is from saturday when we went out for breakfast, browsed through fashion island, and ended the day car shopping. jade, as always, was very happy to tag along and was the center of attention everywhere we went.

jade was even more excited about her second dress because it was to be worn to her first wedding. we imagined she was thinking "i so cute, hu mom!?"
we also have the official height, weight, and head circumference from jade's four month check up, as follows:

height = 64 cm or 25.2 inches

weight = 5.76 kg or 12 lbs 11.2 oz

hc = 39.6 cm or 15.59 inches

jade continues to be a very long, skinny baby with a somewhat small head. we think she is perfect!

another beautiful saturday

here in southern california we have enjoyed five weeks of blue skies, beautiful sunsets and perfect weather. as the forecast is set to bring some cloudy skies and rain over the next few days, calle decided to take a spontaneous detour to 44th street to let jade play in the warm sand and experience the beauty of the sun setting over catalina island.

we then joined our friends for a fantastic japanese style bbq at stefan & mimi's.

the events of the day were quite tiring for our little jade and she was sure to sleep in the next morning [snooze monkey example below].

guess who?

calle had the honors of dressing jade this morning while i prepared breakfast. they were so quiet that i was certain some type of conspiracy was taking place upstairs...and as calle made his way into the kitchen with our munchkin it was clear they were playing a prank on mama! jade must have chosen her own clothing as she was wearing the silliest mismatched & ill fitting ensemble one could imagine. the outfit gave us all a fantastic laugh - what a fun way to start the week. thanks to calle for his ingenious creativity and sense of humor, and to jade for being such a good sport!
