thanksgiving weekend

thanksgiving weekend meant four days with papa!
jade & i were both so excited to spend this time with him. we started our thanksgiving festivities by hosting a small dinner party with close friends and spent the rest of the weekend enjoying leisurely days and perfect fall weather.

papa & jade were even able to take a nap on the couch friday afternoon.


sunday afternoon we walked jade down to thousand steps beach in laguna. the windy & cold climate allowed us the entire beach to ourselves.

jade has started smiling quite often and loves her little chin and cheeks to be lightly tickled. we are absolutely enamored with this new expression!

well baby | monday november 15

jade had her one month check up today and she has gained exactly 1 pound since her last check up two weeks ago. this means she is getting enough food and is growing at a healthy rate. for a first time mom this news was very exciting! jade's new weight is 8 lbs. 15 oz. [or 4.06 kg].

one month of jade

our little jade is now almost four weeks old and has already managed to take over the household. she is the boss of everything; when mama eats, what she eats, and how she eats. what time mama & papa go to bed, wake up, and get out of the house.
she also has complete control of our hearts; we are so in love.

yesterday jade and i had lunch with my dear friend barbara who is visiting from jacksonville, florida. jade slept like a little tree frog through the entire lunch and was adored by many of the other guests.

this is one of jade's favorite places to take a nap and mama likes it, too.

earlier this week jade sat pretty for a quick photo before leaving the house to run errands with mama.

poor jade was so upset when she realized she had slept through halloween! what do you mean i don't get to show off my awesome moose costume to all the trick or treaters? this is not fair!!!

when mama lisa was here we enjoyed jade's first laguna beach stroll in the baby bjorn. daddy was so excited and jade loved it!
