jade gets frustrated when we let her play with the bowl containing the eaten edemame... they didn't feel at all as good as the non-eaten ones. "mom & dad - h0w can you be so mean?!"

my first mother's day

as always, calle went above & beyond to celebrate me on this special day. he woke up early with jade to prepare a divine feast while i slept...and slept...and slept...until nearly 9:00. the additional rest was a treat in itself but was only the beginning of a fantastic day. i walked into our living room and was greeted with a vanilla soy latte [my favorite], a big box with lots of ribbon [jade's favorite] and a brunch that was suitable for a queen. jade helped me open my gift; a gorgeous storksak!

jade also helped papa make waffles, which were a bit messier than expected! here you can see the scrapings of failed waffles [we finally got it right and they were delicious]!

after a very leisurely morning calle took jade and i to sol cucina in newport beach where we feasted on more delicious fare and sipped skinny girl margaritas.

after all the eating & drinking we decided it would do us all some good to get some fresh air so we strolled the beautiful streets of balboa island.

it was a long, lovely day and my beloved husband & baby girl worked very hard to make it absolutely perfect for me. at the end of it all they fell asleep together peacefully on the couch. two peas in a pod! [the very best peas any woman could ask for!]

and just around the corner is father's day...how will i ever top this?

a bug's life

on friday i watched papa play soccer [i am his biggest fan]!

on saturday morning we went to fashion island with papa!

on saturday night papa gave me a bath...

on sunday morning papa took us to breakfast [i had swedish pancakes with berries]!

on sunday afternoon papa took us to the beach...

and on sunday evening we read magazines in the park...

i must be the luckiest bug in the world!

snutten's new wheels

after watching some formula one with daddy on tv, snutten decided she desperately needed her own set of wheels. before anyone had time to say janne "flash" nilsson, a new hotrod had been acquired for our little princess.

the premier tour - proudly rolling out of the garage.

"daddy, if i turn this key the engine starts, hu? hu daddy?!"

"get out of the way mommy!"

to gain respect at the playground these days,

a customized license plate is a must, jade told us.

bugsy always parks her wheels in the middle of the garage.
