sunday morning

a typical sunday morning in the wear-holmgren-montgomery household:

nicole is downstairs doing laundry.

calle is cleaning the kitchen after eating breakfast (while watching women's world cup soccer).

ingemar is by the gate, meowing because he hasn't quite figured out he can simply jump over it...

and jade, a.k.a. the truffle pig, is using the gate to practice standing up. she is very proud of herself!

once jade grows tired of the gate stand, she proceeds to the powder room where she decides it is a great idea to pull out all the moss from the planter.

if jade could speak, we would imagine she would tell us the moss is an awesome toy!

after putting some clothes on, jade decides she should probably help pappa put the dishes away...

i eat chicken, yes i do. i eat chicken, how about you?

last weekend we participated in the oc bbq festival where jade was introduced to a lot of new sights and sounds, as well as good ol' american bbq. one of the participants offered me a drumstick, insisting they were the best. in the blink of an eye, jade snatched the drumstick and was determined to eat every last bite. you would think she had teeth by the time she was done with that poor piece of chicken, although i'm certain most of it was on her face, her clothes, and my hair. here are a few pics of jade bug in action!

her face says it all, "geez mom this is a lot of work for very little meat! what a disappointment!"

it's old, but it's cute.

look! i'm crawling!

june 4th will forever be remembered by me and nicole as the date our little jade bug officially crawled. it took some fluffy white 1990's carpet, five cheering fans, and a few ploys [toys] to make it happen. as usual, jade had no idea what all the fuss was about!

wednesday with jade!

working from home every wednesday & friday allows me a bit of day time freedom. today jade and i met my cousin, jen, and her two baby girls for a walk at newport upper back bay. it was gorgeous outside and such a treat to spend an hour with family.

jade worked up quite an appetite after our long walk so i prepared banana mash with cinnamon; one of her favorite meals! she loves playing with her food almost as much as she loves eating.

i think these bananas will feel amazing on my toes! oh yes, they are so mushy and good! mama, can you make more bananas for my pedicure? and maybe some more to eat?
