memorial day getaway | san diego

a 3-day weekend is considered quite a luxury and calle took full advantage of this rarity by planning a secret weekend trip to san diego many months in advance.  it was not until a few days before departure that he filled me in on the hiking trip he had in store...

we started our journey with a beautiful beach hike at torrey pines state park.

and after a 20 minute walk through the trails you find yourself stepping right out onto the sand of this beautiful beach.

after our morning hike we had a casual breakfast at kono's, one of my favorite breakfast spots in san diego.

and then we spent a few hours poolside in downtown san diego waiting for our hotel room...

calle found great pleasure in the sunshine, people watching, and views of downtown san diego.

in the evening we cleaned up and enjoyed some quality time in the hotel before meeting up with jonas & celeste for dinner.

the next morning me & my big hat went for a stroll.  it is very useful for blocking the sun and my vision!

after a leisurely morning we reached our final weekend destination;
